Historical residence in the centre of Montepulcian
Toscana 1153Description
This historic building, located in the heart of Montepulciano, is remembered because it was here that Saint Robert Bellarmine lived in the historical context of the Counter-Reformation. The studies he undertook to apply himself in teaching and lecturing later converged in the multi-volume work the Controversies, which represented the first attempt to systematise the various theological controversies of the time, and had resonance throughout Europe. In the writings, Bellarmine clearly set out the positions of the Catholic Church without polemics against the Reformation, but only using the arguments of reason and tradition
The residence consists of five flats with large rooms overlooking the beautiful Piazza Grande and the magnificent surrounding Sienese hills, and is furnished with period furniture.
